The Clarke + Ervin Center for Innovation and Performing Arts at Cape Henry Collegiate is designed to serve as a creative and cultural hub for students and the broader community. The Center features a flexible proscenium theater with seating for over 500 people, supported by classrooms, rehearsal and dressing spaces, workshops, and a welcoming lobby that connects performance and learning environments.
LSTN Consultants provided acoustics and audiovisual design, developing comprehensive strategies to support speech clarity, musical warmth, and audience engagement. The theater’s variable acoustic characteristics were balanced with the school’s broader goals for flexibility and affordability, integrating closely with architectural and structural design to achieve high performance within a modest footprint. The audiovisual design establishes a robust yet intuitive infrastructure for teaching, rehearsals, and public performances. Systems include a presentation and reinforcement audio platform, distributed video and paging systems, and networked back-of-house intercom and monitoring. The result is a seamlessly integrated environment where technology enhances learning and performance rather than defining it.
