Met Watson Library

The Watson Library at The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the world’s leading art research libraries. This renovation transforms one of its historic reading rooms into a flexible, multipurpose environment designed to host public lectures, collection showcases, and intimate special events within the Museum’s Fifth Avenue landmark.

LSTN Consultants provided acoustic and audiovisual design for the project. Acoustic design strategies addressed sound isolation, reverberation control, and background noise to balance intelligibility and warmth in a compact setting. The integrated audiovisual system provides seamless support for presentations and events, with discreet infrastructure compatible with both fixed and portable media systems. The result is a refined, high-performance space that unites scholarship, engagement, and technology within the Museum’s historic architectural fabric.
