The Renton Amphitheater is a new covered outdoor mass timber stage for Gateway Park in downtown Renton. The venue is envisioned as a flexible community asset capable of supporting a wide range of programming, including outdoor movies, World Cup viewing events, concerts, festivals, public gatherings, and other civic activities. The project seeks to create a durable, easy-to-operate venue that activates the park while supporting the City’s long-term programming goals.
LSTN is providing acoustics and audiovisual consulting for the project. Our work includes acoustic guidance for the stage enclosure and evaluation of environmental noise considerations within the surrounding urban context. The audiovisual design includes a large demountable DVLED video display, performance sound and speech reinforcement system, and infrastructure to support event productions while maintaining a simple operational model for City staff and event organizers. Working closely with Mithun and the City of Renton, LSTN helped create a venue that balances performance, flexibility, and community engagement.
